Xiang Ao, Associate Professor

Dr. Xiang Ao is an Associate Professor in the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Information Processing, Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences(ICT, CAS). Before joining ICT, he received Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Institute of Computing Technology, CAS in 2015 and B.S. degree in Computer Science from Zhejiang University in 2010.

His research interests include algorithms and models for financial-related data mining tasks. He has authored more than 20 referred publications at prestigious international conferences and journals like IEEE TKDE, ACM TIST, WWW, SIGIR, ICDE, IJCAI, and has servred as PC members over top tier international conferences such as IJCAI18/19, AAAI19, ICDM19, etc. Currently, he is supported by National Key Research and Development Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, CCF-Tencent Rhino-Bird Young Faculty Open Research Fund, Ant Financial Science Funds, and Youth Innovation Promotion Association CAS, etc.

I'm always looking for talented and motivated interns with a strong interest/background in machine learning, data mining,  and/or mathematics.

  1. [2019.08]: Two papers "Reading like HER: Human Reading Inspired Extractive Summarization " and "A Challenge Dataset and Effective Models for Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis" are accepted by EMNLP2019.
  2. [2019.08]: Two short papers "Cross-modal Image-Text Retrieval with Multitask Learning" and "A Unified Generation-Retrieval Framework for Image Captioning" are accepted by CIKM2019. 
  3. [2019.05]: Our paper "Unsupervised Neural Aspect Extraction with Sememes" for aspect extraction on sentiment analysis is accepted by IJCAI2019.
  4. [2019.04]: Our paper "Warm Up Cold-start Advertisements : Improving CTR Predictions via Learning to Learn ID Embeddings" for CTR prediction is accepted by SIGIR2019. 
  5. [2019.04] Our paper "Large-scale Frequent Episode Mining from Complex Event Sequences with Hierarchies" for sequential pattern mining is accepted by ACM TIST.
